Abstract

The article discusses the specifics of the perception of architecture as a complex spatial information system. The concept and features of the artistic image in architecture are considered. The purpose of the work is to assess the importance of the figurative component in the system of factors influencing the process of architectural design, as well as to trace the mechanism of influence of the artistic concept, its expression in an architectural work. Architecture is binary by nature, i.e. it combines material and spiritual (figurative and artistic) principles.
